Bedtime Confessions: Miles Redd

Produced by Tori Mellott

My nighttime ritual includes: Sometimes I feel like it resembles the opening montage of Joan Crawford (getting ready) in Mommy Dearest, but let’s just say I like to go to bed clean with a big glass of ice water.

My favorite childhood bedtime story was… "Pat the Bunny." I was drawn to real fur on the books cover, always a sucker for glamour.

When I can’t sleep I… first meditate, and if that does not work, then watch a little 30 Rock. Tina Fey calms me and gives me perspective.

My childhood bedroom looked like: It started out as an ode to Williamsburg. Mahogany twin beds with navy bedspreads and toy soldier wallpaper. Hated it! My Mom let me redecorate in about the 4th grade, and I turned it into a sea-foam (which I now call celadon) fantasy. Everything was sea-foam…walls, carpet, chair…and the odd storehouse white desk.

My go-to bedtime snack is: I am not much for eating right before bed, but if I am peckish, maybe a clementine. I like the perfume of citrus.

I am a: stomach, side, or back- sleeper. Side to stomach

T.V. in bed? If so, what’s on? Most definitely, my favorite spot to watch… the latest Netflix/HBO/FX/Comedy Central/Amazon show I am working my way through.

Which Jimmy: Kimmel or Fallon? Both, depends who is visiting

Pets in bed? Sure

My bedtime wardrobe consists of: A very soft loose tee shirt and a pair of boxers (also soft and loose)

What’s your stance on earplugs and eye-masks? Love a sleep mask, earplugs don’t need, my bedroom is pretty quiet, but if I lived over the Holland Tunnel I would consider them.

Fill in the blank: I sleep _________ on planes. OK

I prefer to sleep… in my own bed

My duvet and bed linens are… Schweitzer

What’s on your nightstand? Books, glass of water, reading lamp, and few medicinal necessities…lip balm and the like.

My bedtime is at approximately: 11p.m.-ish

I aim for ___ hours of sleep each night: 7 to 8 hours of sleep

Are you an early riser, or do you prefer to sleep in? Sleep in…
