Bedtime Confessions: Julianne Taylor

My nighttime ritual includes: Jammies, story time with the kids, and my guilty pleasure: an episode of Dateline on OWN! I love a good murder mystery. It usually ends with the suspects being caught on video buying duct tape and a tarp at Walmart, but entertaining nonetheless! Ha!

When I can’t sleep I… Lucky for me, I usually have no trouble falling asleep.

My childhood bedroom looked like: A typical '70s-style room with twin beds and a green and orange floral motif.

My go-to bedtime snack is: Dry cereal. I totally get a side eye from Hubby as my crunching drives him mad, but I love a cup of dry cereal at night.

I am a: stomach, side, or back- sleeper. I totally sleep on my stomach, which is why false eyelashes would never work on me. I'd wake up with them glued to my forehead!

T.V. in bed? If so, what’s on? There's nothing better than vegging out while scrolling Instagram before bed! Reality TV is my guilty pleasure—a good murder mystery or some Real Housewives is my go-to show.

Which Jimmy: Kimmel or Fallon? Fallon for sure! 

Pets in bed? Sad to say the hubby is allergic to pet dander and blows up like a Macy's Day float! Our home is a pet-free zone.

My bedtime wardrobe consists of: My favorite pajamas are these Old Navy cotton pants with huge pink cupcakes all over them and a white cotton t-shirt. I wish I could say that I wear a lacey little nightie to bed and sleep in satin sheets, but let's be real people—by the end of a busy day, I'm a tired mama of three kids. I crave comfort!

What’s your stance on earplugs and eye-masks? I have this weird phobia with eye-masks—I'm scared it might roll over my nose at night and suffocate me! My Sleep Pillow app plays loud rain sounds all night, so no earplugs are needed.

My duvet and bed linens are… Cotton percale. The crispness makes me feel like I'm sleeping in a hotel. 

What’s on your nightstand? My "night water" always has a spot on the nightstand. I might get thirsty at 3 a.m.! My iPhone, remote, and lip balm can be found there as well.

My bedtime is at approximately: 9 to 10 p.m. After the kids go to bed at 8 p.m. I like to enjoy 1-2 hours of me-time.

I aim for __ hours of sleep each night: 8. I can be cranky if I don't get my 8 hours a night. 

Are you an early riser, or do you prefer to sleep in? I'm a total night owl by nature, but I've had to adjust to going to bed earlier as that 6:05 a.m. alarm comes migggggghty early!
