Hot List: A Touch of Opulence

Glam touches make new product offerings sing

Written by Sally Finder Weepie

Today's designers take stunning style cues from glam eras of the past, calling on materials and finishes that cloak functional pieces in sparkling beauty.

Taking inspiration from its naturally iridescent namesake, a gleaming Pearlescent glaze lends luminous beauty to select upscale fixtures from DXV by American Standard, including this rectangular bathroom sink.

Amerock debuted Glacio, a sparkling collection of translucent crystal knobs that seem to float above the surface of drawers and doors. The honed crystal knobs are offered in three geometric shapes and boast mirrored centers for enhanced sparkle.

The Brisbane six-light chandelier from Kichler drips with the elegance of antique-white beads. Set against the fixture's distrissed black finish, the beads bring pop to a room like a string of pearls against a chic black dress.

Callisto hardware by Belwith Keeler celebrates Hollywood Regency heritage, pairing the glamour of a bygone era with modern refinement, luxury, and opulence.

Kohler has added a new Artist Editions sink to its selection of lavatories for the bath, this one hand-crafted to give the appearance of shagreen leather. The finish, which became popular during China's Song Dynasty, is created using an organic two-step mineral glazing process.

Kallista, in collaboration with Cristallerie Royale de Saint-Louis of France, is offering a luxurious option to its Per Se decorative handles. The Per Se Clear Crystal Sink Faucet Knobs are handcrafted by Saint-Louis artisans using old-world techniques to create a jewel-like appearance.
