Cinnamon Toasted Pound Cake and Strawberries


  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups strawberries, washed and quartered
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 (10.34 ounce) frozen pound cake, thawed and cut in 12 slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Whipped cream

In small bowl stir together sugar and cinnamon. In large bowl toss together strawberries, jam, lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon-sugar mixture until berries are well coated.

Toast pound cake slices. Spread 1 side of each slice with butter. Sprinkle with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. To serve, place 2 pound cake slices on each of 6 plates. Top with strawberries and whipped cream. Makes 6 servings.
