The rooms were painted with zero-VOC paints (no measurable toxic emissions) from Sherwin Williams' Harmony Interior Latex collection. The paints are durable, come in a range of colors and gloss levels, and have antimicrobial properties to resist mildew (800/382-6567; sherwin-williams.com). A recycled antique chest was fitted with an extended wood top for a charming breakfast bar.
