Creating a Luxe Master Bath

Stunning tile creates a focal-point wall in this serene space

Produced by Sally Finder Weepie

The owners of this home in Colts Neck, NJ, wanted to update their 20-year-old dark green master bath to shape a tranquil space where they could wash away the cares of the day. They replaced the existing diagonal tub to provide room to expand the shower and put in a gorgeous freestanding tub from the Serin collection by American Standard.

Designer Mary Lenner led the homeowners to the star of the show, the tile. For the focal-point wall behind the tub, Lenner chose "Luxor" by Artistic Tile. The design features Cloud limestone polished lines with polished Bianco Dolomiti for the background. Also by Artistic Tile, the flooring is "Foussana Beige" 24 x 24” polished porcelain.

Traditional-style cabinets for the vanity, crafted by Holiday Kitchens, are painted soothing white and given extra dimension with a latte wash. Polished Crema Marfil marble tops the countertops, the veins echoing the movement and hues seen in the wall tile. Polished-nickel hardware provides subtle glimmer that's amplified in the "Porcius" mirrors from Uttermost, set against walls in "Edgecomb Gray" from Benjamin Moore. Sconces are from Hudson Valley Lighting.

The shower niche is bordered with Thassos polished marble, which contrasts subtly with shower walls in glossy white ceramic tile. Loop Penny Rounds bordered by Chelsea Cloud honed limestone pencil molding interject a textural accent to cap off the casuallly elegant space.
