A master bath is a place of peace and solitude, made even richer with luxurious décor to match. Be it a cascading backsplash of marble, glittering custom tile mosaics, or classic clean white porcelain, these spaces are secluded retreats from the rest of the world. Read on for some of our most stunning master baths.

Gorgeous Gray Master Bath
“European Gray” from Benjamin Moore wraps this master bath in sophisticated serenity. The ambience is given a creative edge with asymmetrical walls and a sky-high ceiling. A clean white floor from Calcutta Mosaic, freestanding tub, and antique chair upholstered in creamy white fabric from Nancy Corzine keep the space bright and airy. -
Playful Pink Master Bath
A wall of playful “Mardale” floral wallpaper from Cowtan & Tout gives this master bath color and texture. A basketweave marble floor lends texture to the otherwise neutral space; a glass shower enclosure adds a contemporary touch. -
Marble Master Bath with Vintage Details
A skirted tub from Sunrise Specialty is outfitted with Waterworks’ crystal-handled “Boulevard” faucet for a touch of glam. Vintage fashion prints line the top of the marble wall, above which mirrored panels help to visually expand the space. -
Marble-Wrapped Master Bath
Calacatta Gold marble surrounds the spacious tub and forms a faux mantel to display bath salts and soft candlelight. White wood paneling add reads clean and classic against the eye-catching floor of Walker Zanger mosaic tiles. -
Artfully Chic Master Bath
This master bath pairs contemporary simplicity with colorful artwork for a fresh look. Behind the freestanding tub, a wall of small patterned tiles serves as eyecatching art. An antique chair upholstered in lively fabrics and monogrammed with an elaborate “W” serves as a focal point. -

An Asian-inspired Brunschwig & Fils wallpaper and a vintage chandelier set the tone in this master bath. The original tub was converted into a spa-like daybed upholstered in terrycloth. Master Bath with Lively Patterns Detail
An old hutch found at a flea market was given a new lease on life with “Elephant” paint from Behr and a backing covered in seagrass material to allow the display items to pop. -
Master Bath with Natural Elements
This bath from the 2010 Healthy Home project is made from sustainable, allergen-free materials that are healthy for both people and the environment. A bathtub from Kohler is framed by quartz surfacing from Cambria. Niches in the surrounding walls provide space for soaps and salts; seagrass shades can be pulled down for privacy. Faucets, toilets, and other Kohler plumbing fixtures are Water Sense-certified to conserve water usage.

Natural light abounds in this master bath dressed in classic white and clean lines. Honeycomb tiles cover the floor for retro appeal, while the freestanding soaking tub gets its own floor-mounted faucet. Built-in cabinetry with open shelving displays seaside goodies like sponges and shells. -
Elegant Master Bath
Elegant architecture sets the stage for a smoky blue, ivory, and shimmering silver color palette that soothes in this master bath. The central feature is a Greek-style tub with a gracious marble surround. Creamy white-painted trim and tranquil blue damask-print wallpaper create a gracious presence beneath a ceiling covered in torn pieces of wallpaper flecked with silver leaf.

Exotic Bathroom
Nestled within a niche, this marble-top bathroom vanity includes an antique Moroccan veil repurposed as a skirt-both whimsical and exotic. The sconces are from Marrakech, never intended to be lights, just decorative objects. But once installed over a bulb, the pierced metal objects transform into glamorous fixtures. Sheathed in mosaic tiles, this open arched shower features fiber-optic lighting that twinkles overhead like a starry sky. A matched pair of towel warmers keeps sumptuous bath towels fresh, dry, and ready to snuggle.

Clearly intended for indulgence, a freestanding soaking tub from Victoria and Albert holds court in the corner of this master bathroom. A graceful Niermann Weeks chandelier and pretty Cowtan & Tout toile fabric valance with ribbon braid trim add a feminine touch.

Tiled Master Bath
A celebration of natural stone, this master bathroom's shower, floor, and tub surround all feature beautifully grained, polished Equator Marmara marble tile from Artistic Tile. Antiqued Silver La Leaf Glass tile sheaths the subtly gleaming walls, while a Curly Ribbon Clear Venetian Chandelier shines from above. The animal-print upholstered bench adds a whimsical touch.

Natural Master Bath
Multiple windows and views of the town give this master bath a tree-house ambiance. Still, bathers can maintain their privacy due to the large windows being covered in dramatically patterned Roman shades. Walls were upholstered in the same fretwork fabric as the shades, creating an enveloping sense of comfort.

Victorian Master Bath
A vintage-inspired two-leg console sink adds elegant curves to a pristine white bath decked out with polished nickel fixtures. Classic white subway tiles cover the walls, while the floor is clad in Iridium Mosaic tiles in lush periwinkle tones. A rectangular pivot mirror and matching sconces in polished nickel add a feeling of luxury.

Master Bath in Marble
Tucked into an alcove, the master bath's luxe tub is surrounded by Carrara marble. The same strongly figured stone is used to frame the nearby shower. Opposite the shower, a marble-topped vanity is crafted from hand-milled mahogany in order to look more like fine furniture than a commonplace bath fixture. Both the sink and tub are from Lefroy Brooks.

Master Bath Retreat
The centerpiece of this master bath retreat is a hand-hammered copper tub designed by artisan Robert Kuo, backed by a custom-designed glass-tile mural designed by tilemaker and artist Erin Adams. The mural, inspired by a waterfall design on an antique Japanese screen, was installed in three panels reminiscent of a folding screen. Adams also designed the woven-pattern tiles installed below the mural-creating a grass-cloth-like weave but on a larger scale.

Dusty-blue toile wallpaper and fabric add an ultra-feminine touch to a master bath whose freestanding bathtub nestles within a bay window. Skirted slipper chairs float above a wide plank hardwood floor. A lush Roman shade dresses the bay window with gracious style.

French-Inspired Bath
This luxurious French-inspired bath is anchored by a capacious tub underneath two windows framed with formal damask swags and opaque silk café curtains with gold tassels. An ornate crystal chandelier twinkles overhead, while dazzling metallic accents give the space an opulent personality. Outside the tub area, glittering mirrored panels hide practical storage options.

Master Bath in White and Silver-Sage
Richly patterned marble sheaths the vanity and shower surround in this master bathroom. Gently arched woodwork (mirroring arched openings elsewhere in the room) turns the bathroom mirror into a gorgeous focal point. Silver-sage-painted walls and white-painted wainscoting create tranquility.

French-Inspired Master Bath
Rescued in Provence, then shipped to the U.S. for this project, an antique leaded-glass window offers a centuries-old backdrop to a contemporary tub. Ivory sheers add delicate beauty without obscuring the breathtaking view. An antique crystal chandelier hangs above marble-tile floors.

His-and-Her Bath
A his-and-her bathroom with a dramatic neutral palette boasts an extra-high freestanding two-person tub -- Michael S Smith for Kallista - beneath a black Murano glass chandelier. To serve as a backdrop for the tub, a stunning chinoiserie-style mural of art glass and mirrored tiles was commissioned from artist Erin Adams. The mural features a pomegranate tree with opalescent art-glass tiles that suggest mother-of-pearl inlay. A centrally-located cherry "spa bar" is outfitted with a sink and two warming drawers for towels. Two sets of louvered doors mask storage spaces outfitted for his and her customized needs.

Boldly Patterned Master Bath
Green fleur-de-lis motif wallpaper from Brunschwig & Fils (on both walls and ceiling) is tempered by classic white woodwork and black accents in this master bath. A calm respite is offered by white beadboard wainscoting and a marble-top console sink with brass legs. The room's quirky footprint is accentuated by a black-and-white harlequin-pattern tile border.

Blue-and-White Master Bath
Abundant white cabinets and a stunning honed Calcutta marble tub surround are set off by walls painted Benjamin Moore's "Palladian Blue." The black chest and contemporary chandelier are from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams.
