Ron Fiore, Master Bedroom
Anchored by Hickory Chair’s “Artisan Poster Bed” flanked by twin tables and end-noted with matching white-painted side chairs, Ron Fiore’s master bedroom is pure symmetry.
Photography: John Bessler and Jonny Valiant
-
The artist’s studio is flooded with natural light, illuminating the calm palette punctuated by hints of lavender and blue.
-
The sitting area acts as the ultimate neutral zone between the artist’s studio and the sleeping space.
-
For the terrace, Fiore customized Hickory Chair’s “Gothick Bench” with marine paint to make it suitable for outdoor use.
-
“I like mixing collections and finishes within a space and then pulling it together with common fabrics,” says Fiore. “It doesn’t look like it came out of a can.”
-
Carole Reed, Master Bath
Carole Reed dared to be sexy when designing the master bathroom. She used ocean-inspired outdoor fabrics to amplify the marble-clad space.
-
Big windows decorated with Turkish terry cloth curtains brighten up the space. Bath cushions covered in “Zig Zag” fabric from Schumacher are stylish and comfortable.
-
According to designer Carole Reed, “anything goes” in the bathroom. “It’s an intimate space that allows you to be more daring and sexy,” she says.

Joy Tribout, Guest Bedroom
With its dramatic black-and-white scheme and gauzy bed curtains, designer Joy Tribout’s guest bedroom is fit for royalty. A bridle-inspired light fixture over the bed, table lamps made from old riding boots, and a series of polo player photographs elaborate on Tribout’s polo-inspired theme.
-
A beautiful black-and-white chair by Century Furniture faces the bedroom’s desk area. The animal skin rug brings a playful pattern into the mix.

An assortment of crystal accessories, including bowls and decanters, fill a wooden basket and overflow onto the table.

Tobi Fairley, Guest Bedroom
In Tobi Fairley’s guest bedroom jade green, bright coral, and chartreuse play happily together. A white-and-green Schumacher patterned fabric dresses not only the headboard and pillows, but also the window. Bold stripes on the ceiling and bright yellow benches by Hickory Chair top off the space.
-
A bright white chest and lamp “pop” against the large painting boasting the room’s color scheme.
-
The room’s closet is neatly organized thanks to California Closets.
-
“Creating unique color combinations is my favorite thing,” says designer Tobi Fairley. “I started with the jade, found a color that supported well (the coral), and then kept things punchy and unexpected with the chartreuse accents.”

Patricia Fisher, Guest Bedroom
Designer Patricia Fisher set out to create a serene guest room space. She did this by dressing the bed with custom linens, cool color tones, and simple, stark white furniture.
-
Ethereal artwork hangs on the wall near the desk. A tie-dye pillow adds drama while the antique desk and tabletop accessories bring a bit of whimsy to the room. “It’s all a subtle balancing act,” explains Fisher.
-
“The sea foam color set the stage for everything else,” says designer Patricia Fisher of the Venetian plaster wallpaper. The tranquil hue complemented the guest room’s ocean views and allotted for contrasting tones to add drama to the otherwise subtle palette.

Keith Baltimore, Guest Bedroom
Inspired by leisurely afternoons perusing Hampton’s antique shops, Keith Baltimore describes his showhouse space as a “peaceful guest room with a collected, comfortable look—a snapshot reminiscent of the 1950s.” The orange and lime-green palette, striped chair, and overscaled headboard with linear slats all come together to achieve the retro look.
-
“The elements have context and contrast,” says Baltimore. The chair’s patterned fabric, mid-century commode, and loud artwork are examples of the eclectic mix of materials in the guest bedroom.
-
The blonde-wash floor lamp’s unique structure sparks conversation, while the settee with window views provides the perfect place to get lost in a new book.
-
“There’s a uniquely personal look in the room, where individual showpieces play off each other,” says designer Keith Baltimore.

Upstairs Landing by Gideon Mendelson
Dubbed “the landing pad,” Gideon Mendelson’s landing is any aviation junkie’s dream-come-true. A propeller-inspired light fixture hangs from the ceiling and continues the theme throughout the landing area. Jelly-jar pendants are evocative of tarmac lights.
-
An antique propeller rests on the wall above the stairs and nailhead trim on the wall treatment references airplane rivets. Mendelson, who installed all 1,500 rivets himself, also hand-painted stripes on the walls in his effort to add rich texture to the grass cloth.
-
A tripod table lamp adds unique flair to the side table. Framed artwork from Bonni Benrubi Gallery complements the color of the square ottoman made of white hide with whipstitch detail.
-
“Like most of my work, I tried to keep the landing sophisticated but approachable, with a touch of whimsy—like the SCRABBLE board and copy of The Little Prince on the lounger,” says designer Gideon Mendelson. “It’s a book about enlightenment through exploration—how fitting!”
